The USF Health MCOM Alumni Society works to facilitate meaningful connections among alumni
of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and its medical students, residents, and fellows.
Dear Alumni:
You are an invaluable part of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine family, and we appreciate all that you do to support your alma mater. The new USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute building in downtown Tampa opened in 2020 and now includes the Taneja College of Pharmacy, which opened in July 2024. It is a vibrant part of the Water Street wellness district, the first of its kind in the world.
The Morsani College of Medicine continues to rise on a remarkable upward trajectory across all three of our missions:
• Our research funding continues to increase, and we now have seven academic departments among the top 50 U.S. medical schools for NIH funding. In 2023, USF was invited to join the prestigious Association of American Universities, a testament to our strong research portfolio of $320 million.
• Our students excel academically, and our incoming class of 2028 boasts a mean GPA of 3.95 and a median MCAT score at the 97th percentile of U.S. medical schools.
• Our health care providers offer the highest levels of innovative and complex care to the most critical patients, as evidenced by the ranking of eight specialties at Tampa General Hospital in the top 50 nationwide, with three more specialties ranked among the top 10 percent of U.S. hospitals, by U.S. News & World Report.
Your support allows us to conduct top-tier research, provide world-class education, and deliver outstanding patient care. As our rankings continue to increase, so does the value of your USF Health MCOM diploma. I encourage you to get involved with the Alumni Society by attending our annual Alumni Weekend, serving on the board, or volunteering virtually or in person to help future physicians through the ASSIST program. Whether contributing to your class scholarship fund or sponsoring a white coat for a first-year medical student, you are investing in the next generation of physicians who will follow in your footsteps – paying it forward.
I am truly grateful for your dedication to the Morsani College of Medicine and the Alumni Society.
All the best,
Charly
