The two-story lobby will serve as the main entrance to both the football facility and the stadium’s south tower premium seating. Designed to host special events, it will open onto Sycamore Drive.

Unveiled: On-campus stadium’s TGH Center for Athletic Excellence

The TGH Center for Athletic Excellence, the future home of USF Football operations, will include a grand two-story lobby, state-of-the-art weight room and sports science lab — just a few highlights revealed in renderings released in November.

A central component of the on-campus stadium, currently under construction, the center will also include sports medicine and recovery facilities, a training table dining area and special amenities such as a barbershop, recording and mixing studio, nutrition bar and golf simulator.

“We’re going to have a building that is the new standard, a complete first-class environment,” said football Head Coach Alex Golesh. “We took the best out of everything we saw [on a tour of new athletics facilities] and put together the plans for a building that will be absolutely awesome.”

The weight room will include custom-built racks, a sports science lab equipped with advanced performance technology, a nutrition station and a DXA scan machine to measure bone density, fat and muscle composition.

The team meeting room will have theater-style seating, dual projection screens and space to accommodate the entire team and staff.

The 150,000-square foot center will be attached to the stadium and adjacent to the Porter Family Indoor Performance Facility, which opened in 2022.

The on-campus stadium is scheduled to open in fall 2027.

The weight room will include custom-built racks, a sports science lab equipped with advanced performance technology, a nutrition station, strength coaches’ offices and a DXA scan machine.

The training table dining area will resemble a sports bar, offering a variety of meal options alongside chef and nutrition staff offices. It will include a teaching kitchen where student-athletes can learn to prepare nutritious meals.
